ASSE - September Chapter Meeting

Wednesday, September 10 - 7:00am

Omelet House
2160 W. Charleston Blvd (at the corner of Charleston and Rancho)

Whether speaking to one individual or to a group of students, the safety professional must bring more to the table to compete with apps, videos, and online content. There is still much value in face-to-face training and meetings – but if you haven’t brushed up your skills in the past few days, you run the risk of sounding stale and dated, thus losing credibility with your audience.

The speaker will provide you with strategies you can use to step up your game in the classroom, boardroom, and other professional interactions. You will leave this session with at least 3 new techniques for improving your training sessions and meetings; a plan for leveraging social media to keep you informed up to the minute on safety innovations; and a recharged enthusiasm for the safety profession!

Abby Ferri, CSP is an independent risk control, safety, and health consultant. She earned her Masters Degree in Environmental Health and Safety and continues to pursue professional development in the field of safety, health, and the environment. Ms. Ferri has been an active member of ASSE for over ten years and has held elected and volunteer positions with the student chapter of Northwest ASSE (Minnesota), ASSE of Orange County (California) and ASSE of San Diego.

In Ms. Ferri’s current role she is responsible for risk control, program development, and regulatory compliance for construction, manufacturing, healthcare, hospitality, and retail clients throughout the United States and Canada. Her previous experience included managing all aspects of corporate safety, health, and environment programs in the construction industry and managing a large book of nationwide accounts in the insurance industry.
